About
TrimIndex is a data tool for evaluating battery-electric vehicles at the trim level. Every page is a functional scoring tool — not a review, not an ad, not a listicle. We pull from government databases, official efficiency testing, and aggregated owner reports to generate a composite score across six dimensions.
We cover roughly 1,800 BEV trims across model years 2020–2026. That includes every mainstream brand from Tesla, Ford, GM, and Rivian to BMW, Hyundai, Kia, and Nissan — plus the longer tail of Lucid, Polestar, Volvo, and others.
The TrimIndex Score is not an opinion. It is a weighted composite derived from recall counts, complaint density, EPA range, depreciation math, and classified owner sentiment. Where human judgment enters — four of the six dimensions — it is bounded, evidence-referenced, and labeled as an AI modifier with a confidence level. The formula baseline always shows first.
We have a kill rule: if TrimIndex doesn't reach 20,000 organic pageviews per month by month six, we shut it down. No zombie maintenance. Either this is useful to enough people or it isn't.
